So. I’m late for work. Running for the U-Bahn (even though it goes every five minutes) – get to the crossing, which is red.

Now in the UK I would just go if there weren’t any cars. Here in Germany however? I wait, just like the locals do. What is happening?? I’m late for school and I’m WAITING WHEN THERE ARE NO CARS.

I think I’m becoming German guys.

Hi Len! I’ve really enjoyed reading your blog – you write so well! You seem to have travelled a LOT on your year abroad too, I’m very jealous that you’re in Germany while I’m stuck here in London :) I spent my year abroad in Florence a couple of years ago and since then have been setting up a website http://www.ThirdYearAbroad.com to help students plan and make the most of their time away – we’ve got a ‘when you’re back’ section to help with multilingual job hunting too, but we only launched a few weeks ago so we’re working on getting a lot more information on there. I was wondering if you might be interested in writing a review of the best bits of your year abroad for us? What you’ve enjoyed most, what you would have done differently in hindsight, the best sewing-related shops, your most difficult exeriences, what you shouldn’t have packed, your favourite words… Your insight would be invaluable – and of course we’d credit your work on the website.

If this sounds interesting, please do send me an email at lizzie@thirdyearabroad.com and I can send you more information. In the meantime, if you get a second to check out the site I would LOVE to know what you think as it’s only there for people like you and I’m longing to know what works and what doesn’t.

Hope to hear from you soon!

    Best wishes,

    Lizzie

when in Rome, don’t as the Romans don’t.

I’ve heard that you can, but I haven’t on the few times I’ve dared it… the first crossing after I leave my house is annoying because a police car is always stationed there during the day, so I’m too afraid to risk it!!!
