Finally! I finally finished it! It’s not perfect but I feel that I’ve done a fairly good job. I modifed the Coffee Date Dress pattern to have a low back, higher neckline and thinner straps. Sally’s chuffed to have a new dress named after her! She was very useful, I used her to see where the neckline needed to be lower, and to figure out how the back looked. I wish my camera hadn’t made the two pictures look completely different colour-wise!
I’m mostly happy that I FINALLY figured out how to do an all in one facing – I messed it up good and proper last time I tried it, but I think I’ve got it now! This turned out far better than my first try at the pattern – it never got posted, and for good reason! This is also the first time I did a zipper with interfacing, which made a world of difference. Unfortunately, the bodice is a teensy on the big side on both me and Sally, but the belt sorts that out!
The next project’s fabric is on the wall behind Sally, ha! It just happened to match so I used it. Pity my chair didn’t hold Sally upright – she looks like she’s had a bit too much to drink in the second picture. Check out the shoes I bought to match the dress!
Pretty snazzy huh? Happy days! I know it’s more of a Summer dress, but I’m awful tempted to wear it out in Frankfurt this weekend…

Sally looks divine in her cute coffee date dress… you are getting good with the making Cresci. I am starting to knit, have my gran’s old knitting pattern folder and knitting needles, scarves all round!
